Highly recognized as an expert commentator on matrimonial matters, Mr. Newman has appeared on CBS News, NBC News, CNN, Cablevision, and Larry King Live, and has frequently been consulted by the New York Times and a range of magazines. He has also conducted seminars for both professional and other organizations on various aspects of matrimonial law and on pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
Mr. Newman graduated with a B.S. from Queens College of the City University of New York with a major in accounting and a minor in economics in 1964, and gained a J.D. from New York Law School in 1967. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1968. He is a member of the New York State Bar – Family Law Section, the American Bar Association, New York County Lawyers Association – Matrimonial Law Section, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District, Eastern District and Western District of New York..
